Electronic loads are required for testing fuel cells such as PEMFC, AFC, PAFC, MCFC, SOFC. These electronic loads are designed either in transistor technology with power, current and voltage ranges according to specific requirements or in IGBT technology.
Electronic loads in transistor technology are particularly suitable for low voltage ranges up to 60V and medium power ranges up to 50 kW. Electronic loads in IGBT technology are designed for higher voltage and current ranges.
Electronic loads are controlled by the well-known BTS-600 test software. Digatron/Firing Circuits electronic loads in combination with BTS-600 test software provide highest dynamic regulation and high speed data acquisition. Thus, a 1kHz sine wave signal can be applied to the DC load current to measure AC resistances.
FCT units in transistor technology are typically used for low voltage, low power test applications. The energy is converted into heat.
