About us

Around the globe via Aachen

Digatron is an international group of companies with manufacturing facilities in Germany, the USA, China and India. For over half a century, we have been developing and producing test and formation systems for all types of batteries, ranging from mobile phone batteries, to electric vehicle batteries, through to batteries for submarines. Digatron also supplies highly dynamic test and simulation systems for other types of electrical energy storage such as fuel cells, supercapacitors and hybrid drives. As a global market leader, today you can find Digatron wherever batteries are manufactured or used to store energy. And rightly so: Digatron’s solutions stand for uncompromising quality and are characterized by long product life cycles.
Our customers include battery and automobile manufacturers, as well as research facilities that develop technologies and solutions for the electrochemical energy storage systems of the future.

Branches

Digatron Zentrale in Aachen

Germany

Since Digatron was founded in 1968, the company's headquarters have been located in Aachen. This is where all the threads come together - and separate again. 90 employees work at the company headquarter, to make Digatron a little better every day. From here, customers all over Europe are supplied, sometimes even all over the world. The in-house development of software and hardware as well as strict production specifications and quality assurance ensure that Digatron products are manufactured to the highest quality standards at all locations.

Digatron Zentrale in Aachen

USA

Digatron has had a subsidiary in the USA since 1988. Rolf Beckers was able to take over the US company Firing Circuits from Norwalk, Connecticut. The American competitor was particularly active in the formation sector and at that time about twice the size of Digatron in Aachen. This transaction made Digatron the largest supplier of test and formation systems. Today, Digatron in Shelton serves customers throughout the Americas.

Digatron Zentrale in Aachen

China

At the beginning of the 90s, exports to China exceeded all expectations. After ten years of booming exports, the pressure from the Chinese authorities became increasingly noticeable. They insisted that part of the value added had to be generated in the country. After a few less successful attempts, Rolf Beckers and Laurie Gardiner (GM of TBS, England) set up a joint venture to manufacture TBS equipment in China and sell it in Asia. These were production lines and machines for the manufacture of batteries. Digatron's many years of manufacturing experience combined with TBS's outstanding engineering to this day form a strong platform in this important region for sales, service and spare parts of the TBS machine series.

Digatron Zentrale in Aachen

India

Ador Powertron was initially Digatron's official representative in India. As time went by, however, it became increasingly clear that bureaucratic hurdles that delayed handling and exports could only be overcome by having our own production facilities in India.  ADOR DIGATRON Private Ltd. began operations as a joint venture in 2013. Ador contributed its rectifier production to the joint venture so that the first Digatron products could be delivered after a relatively short time. A spatial expansion was already required in 2016. Seiher's subsidiary in Pune manufactures battery testing and formation equipment. Pune is regarded as the city for vehicle production and components for the automotive industry.
